Canon Photocopiers Receive Energy Star Excellence Award for 2011
Last year The Sunday Times newspaper ranked Canon UK as the tenth most environmentally-aware UK business in the Sunday Times Best Green Companies list. This year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the US, the people responsible for Energy Star certifications, awarded Canon the 2011 Energy Star Award for Excellence in Energy Efficient Product Design. In an industry which is known for high standards in energy efficiency and environmentally-conscious design and build, Canon has led the way in introducing energy-saving and sustainable innovations across its photocopiers, scanners and multifunction printers. Energy efficient design has been able to deliver significant carbon emissions reductions and reduce power consumption by as much as 65% on the revolutionary imageRUNNER Advance series of multifunction printers (MFP's)/photocopiers. Falcon has previously written about Canon's development of the first-ever part plant-derived plastic to be used in photocopiers construction which is now being used across devices in the imageRUNNER Advance photocopiers range.
