Another moving movie that involves a bittersweet twist is Finding Forrester (2000). A reclusive writer, played by Sean Connery, has lived in the Bronx for years while the neighborhood has deteriorated around him. Jamal Wallace is a youngster who comes from the Bronx, and the two develop an unlikely friendship. Jamal is an excellent sports player, and always has a basketball around, but his true love is writing. His scores qualify him for admission to a prestigious prep school, where he struggles to fit in. While parts of the plot might appear predictable, the story itself is a unique tale about friendship and following dreams. Like in Mr. Hollands Opus, a bittersweet ending may leave you tearing up a bit.
