Wash blankets in hot water regularly. Try to avoid buying wool and down blankets.

Run air conditioner during periods of high humidity (mostly during spring through fall).

Use window shades instead of heavy curtains and venetian blinds.

Vacuum thoroughly 1-2 times a week.

Encase mattresses, box springs, and pillows in zippered, dust proof covers.

Keep clothing in closets that can be shut.

Non-allergic individuals should do most of the house cleaning.
