Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speakers Review
I like to buy from Amazon or whoever appears in the main listing, but I got mine from Klipsch directly where the site lists an MSRP much lower than the current price than some other vendors.
Very nice speakers! Actually, I'm judging the sound by having heard them subsequent to purchase in a way that let me A/B them with Bose Companion 3 and a host of others. It's hard to judge the sound quality by my home listening because I listen primarily to mp3s of old 78s whose sound quality ranges from bad to awful! Also the computer's sound card is not the best which doesn't help.
What I REALLY like about these speakers is that they're wireless. I wasn't sure I would notice an advantage over wired and wondered whether I was wasting the upcharge, but I find the wireless is the best part. It lets me place the speakers optimally for listening without worrying about having to put a wired computer in an awkward place.
I've got most of my music collection loaded onto an older netbook (yeah, netbooks have been around that long that I can talk about an older one!) and the rest on a portable hard drive that I plug into the netbook's USB port. The
2.1 speakers manufacturer are well placed in a corner of the living room where the sound can be heard in all of the downstairs and, if I kick up the volume when no one else is around, all of the upstairs, too!
As others have said, the wireless functions clean and flawlessly.
A device (typically, an mp3 player?) can be plugged into the speakers directly. This means they can serve as wired speakers, too, but I can't imagine using them that way.
Room to Roam
If you use your laptop or notebook to listen to music, watch movies or play games, but want to get away from your desk and still enjoy true-to-life sound, the ProMedia 2.1 speakers manufacturer are for you.
The ProMedia wirelessly "talks" to your computer via a USB wireless transmitter. All you have to do is plug the transmitter into your computer's USB port and you're ready to move around your room and still experience the big, powerful sound that's made Klipsch an industry leader. It's that simple -- no router or installation software is required.
The transmitter can stream audio wirelessly from your computer to the ProMedia up to 30 feet away. Plus, its robust 2.4 GHz wireless technology won't interfere with other wireless devices, such as cordless phones, so nothing stands in the way of you and amazing sound.
Tip: iPhone and iPod Touch owners with a Wi-Fi Connection can use Apple's Remote Application to wirelessly control the iTunes on their computers.
Classic Award-Winning Sound
The original THX-certified ProMedia 2.1 speakers was introduced in 2000, and over the years it has become one of the highest praised, best-selling products Klipsch has ever produced. Therefore, Klipsch designed the ProMedia
2.1 speakers supplier Wireless to sound just like it.
With or without wires, the ProMedia remains the defacto 2.1 speakers standard for computer speakers - it's even been known to put some home theaters to shame.
