Chicago Toyota Prius Driving Forward A Hybrid Invasion

Toyota got caught up in some bad stuff over the past couple of months

. With the recent recall of Prius vehicles, the brand has come under a lot of heat, forcing the Japanese sector of the company to take a more hands off approach in terms of managing the American branch. But the company has warmed up to the change, and Chicago Toyota Prius drivers are happy to see their loyalty repaid through a renewed dedication to excellence. In fact, it looks like the recalls themselves havent taken a terrible toll on the company; some of the sales numbers basically speak for themselves. Even Chicago used Toyota dealers are getting a lot of interest in recent months, because it really is hard to argue with excellence, even if you trip up once or twice along the way. So what exactly do the sales numbers look like?

They are impressive, Ill tell you that much. It looks like global Prius sales have surpassed the 2.5 million unit mark. According to Chicago Toyota Prius dealers, the car sells about 2,000 units a day. Recall? What recall? And these kinds of sales numbers bode well for the Japanese brand. It looks like they may contribute to the advancement of even more progressive technologies that could eventually make the current hybrid system a thing of the past. Sorry, Chicago used Toyota dealers, but it looks like a new champ might hit the market here in the next few years. But it makes perfect sense, as the rest of consumer technology is becoming obsolete quicker and quicker these days. In the long run, it looks like a good thing that technological advancement is continuing to grow at an exponential rate.

Toyota is testing a range of future technologies such as lithium-ion batteries, plug-in hybrid systems and battery electric vehicles, but these are not yet ready for the market, said David Buttner, Toyota Australia senior director of sales and marketing. Even in the future, Toyotas hybrid cars will continue to enable owners to drive long distances without requiring expensive charging or battery-swap infrastructure. That kind of announcement is a big deal for Chicago Toyota Prius dealers, who would be happy to see the Prius considered obsolete in the face of less expensive engine technology. In 2009, during the crux of the recession, the Prius sold more than 500,000 units of the Prius, a number that even Chicago used Toyota dealers shared in the revelry over.

So what exactly should we expect to see from Toyota in the future? Well, it could be just about anything. What we do know is that the company doesnt seem to be shooting for pure electric power. This is actually a good thing, as the long term sustainability of such vehicles has yet to be proven. And yes, charging the battery is an expensive thing, as Mr. Buttner points out above, so its crucial that we continue to move forward into self-sustainable energy technologies. All I can say is that Im damn excited for the future.
