Chick flicks are just movies that are targeted at women

. Most guys groan when their girlfriends or wives pick out a gal movie to watch because they have no desire to watch them. But guys, there are many of these that you will be able to bear and there are even some chick flicks that you might actually love!

They key to finding a chick flick that the guys will like and will keep the women reaching for their tissues is finding a movies that either has a story line beyond the romance or to find a movie that has man's man actor. These two factors can make chick flicks not only tolerable, but enjoyable for guys.

Here are 5 suggestions. These have great plots and awesome male leads to distract guys from the mushiness that girls crave:

1. Pearl Harbor: This movie has something for everyone in it. Lots of action. Lots of guys being guys. And lots of romance. Girls will be so absorbed in the love triangle between the three main characters that they won't even notice the destruction and mayhem. Guys will be focused on the very visual war scenes and won't even realize that there is a romance happening right in front of them.

2. Jerry Maguire: Sure the two main characters fall in love but guys do not think of this as a chick flick - it is a sports movie, isn't it? While the main character is running around trying to make deals for his clients and get them the best contract possible, he's also falling in love.

3. Meet Joe Black: This movie has an outstanding plot and the early death of the main character will have the guys hooked. The girls will love the whole relationship between Hopkins and his daughter and how he stands up to death for her.

4. Blue Crush: The girls will love the romance and the guys won't be able to...well, take their eyes of the girls! And of course, there are some great surfing scenes for the guys as well.

5. High Fidelity: It's a John Cusack movie - is there any other reason to watch it? Ok, it also has a main character that guys can really related to, great music, and the girls will be sitting at the edge of their seats waiting to find out if the main character will get the girl in the end.

The way to get guys to watch chick flicks with their girlfriends and wives is to find movies that have some substance to them. Girls should save the truly chick flick, romance, crying movies for girls night. When the guys are around, pick a movie that you both enjoy.
