. There are many different factors to take into account when making homemade wine. You have the freedom of making your own choices about what fruit to use, the fermenting process and the yeasts you want to use as well as many other choices to take into consideration.

The first decision you need to make is whether you want to use a grape concentrate or to use fresh grapes to make your wine. If you choose to use fresh grapes you also have the choice of growing your own grapes or buying them. This choice determines that taste of your wine so you will have to think hard and do some research before you make your final decision regarding this.

The second decision you need to make when making homemade wine is how long you want the wine to ferment. The longer your wine ferments the more alcohol content it will have and it will make a difference in the taste as well. You can ferment your wine in two different ways, using a barrel or a tank.

You also want to think about what types of yeast you want to use for your wine. There are many types to choose from. You have the natural yeasts that come from the grapes but that is usually not enough. You will need to add additional yeast for the fermentation process. The yeasts that you buy are more stable and will allow the process to run smoothly. Although you may think the natural yeasts that come from the grapes have more flavor they can be a problem too.

You will also need to decide whether you want to filter your wine or not. When you choose to not filter your wine you may obtain a richer taste in your wine but there are still bacteria in your wine with can be a problem. The appearance of your wine may not be as appealing when you choose to not filter it too. But the final decision is up to you. There really is not right or wrong answer to this step.

As you can see there is a lot of things to think about when making homemade wine. There are many decisions to be made. That is why it is important to do some research on your different steps before you begin your process. You can find most of the information you need online.
