There are three kinds of financial aids exist:
Based on Academic Merit and/or Previous Scholastic Record (Scholarship)
It is usually given by colleges or other educational organizations. There are cases when government can award student with scholarship. If you feel that your abilities are worth of appreciation and you can prove it, ask in your college if they can award you with such scholarship or go online and check government organizations who give awards to outstanding students. Believe in yourself and do not be afraid to praise yourself.
Grant
This kind of financial aid can be given to any student who can prove that he/she really needs it. It can be awarded if student has a specific interest in something. Religious, ethnical, financial and other problems can become a reason for different government organization, private and educational associations and other institutions to give him/her a grant. Find out about your possibilities, ask college advisor or just go on- line and check if you can apply. It is important to act, because there is always limited amount of money that can be given. Remember: grants are gifts that you should not pay back. It is in your interest to find a source that will cover your educational expenses.
Loan
If you cannot get any financial aid listed above but really wants to get some money for studying, than you should think of taking a loan. The main disadvantage of loan is that it should be paid back. Consider the interest rate and think of your abilities to pay money back in a certain period of time.
