Choosing The Best Audio Visual System For Your Pub Or Club

England are through to the World Cup 2010 and recession or not one thing is for sure

. After a quiet period for the licensing trade this is most definately the time for the wise publican to see takings increase like never seen in the past few years.

If your audio visual system is advertised locally it will no doubt attract trade. If the clientelle njoy great football match viewing experience then they will return for more. This is an excellen opportunity for any publican who has been hit by low trade levels over the past few months or even years.

There are many factors to take into account when choosing the perfect audio visual system for your establishment and below are a few examples.

The size of your rooms plays a big factor in your choice of screen, if you have large rooms then small screens wouldn't be recommended and it would be preferable to have a screen of at least 42 inches or for extra large rooms a projector screen.

If your rooms are quite small then either a well placed 32 inch screen or maybe 2 smaller screens that are spread apart so that people are not all crowded around one screen. If your rooms are well lit and you do not really want to darken them, then a projector screen would not be a good idea as a projector cannot produce black, therefore, unless you want to purchase a high end screen which has a better brightness output, it would be more advisable to look at large screens.

Another factor to take into account is position of the screens. The position of your screens is quiet crucial. You do not want to position customers near your bar areas and obstruct access to it as to the publican it is more cost effective to have customers at the bar. It is best not to have customers positioned near entry and exit doors not only for safety reasons but also if people are stood near the doors than this will make your premises look full and to some clients less inviting.

As to the type of screen you want to have installed in your premises, there are only really three types - LCD plasma and projector. Please do note that there is a fourth which is LED but the costs of these units are still high at the moment and in do not give a higher return than a plasma panel when it comes to audio visual systems.

People do tend to generalise and refer to all big screen televisions as plasmas but this is not the case and there are subtle differences between the two. The main differences are that plasma tend to be 42 inch and above range, are heavier, are not as energy efficient but are generally cheaper than the large LCD screens. LCD screens range from the small 19 inch and, now, size up to 50 inch, they are lighter, more efficient but are slightly more expensive. I would advise that if you are looking for a big screen that either a 42" inch or 50 inch plasma would be the best solution and for smaller screens then LCD would have to be used.

If you are fortunate enough to have extra large rooms than a projector system would be advisable. Projector screens come in various sizes from 1.5 meter to 4 meter across, shapes from either 4:3 ratio or square, and either manual pull down or electrical with remote control. The size of the screen is determined by two factors, the first being the size of your room and the second the being the throw distance. The throw distance is the distance between the screen and the projector itself. The further away the projector the larger the image but if you find that you require a projector screen but do not have a great distance to project over then you could use a short throw projector which will halve the projector to projector screen distance.
