So you've decided you want a business coach, but you're not sure about how to find one that is right for you

Recommendations from friends can be good, but make sure your needs are the same before you jump in head first. Ask your friends what the business coach actually did for their business, and consider whether your needs from a coach are the same.

Check whether your coach to be is a real example in relation to the results you want to realize. If you want to hire a coach for boosting your sales for example, make sure he or she has a serious track record in this area.

Choose a business coach who offers a free consultation. Many business coaches offer the first thirty minutes free, to see if their service is going to be right for you. Do try out these offers and don't be afraid to say if you don't feel that the prospective coach is a good match for you.

If possible, meet your coach personally or if the distance is too far, meet in cyberspace via video conferencing or by Skype.

Ask Your Potential Coach Questions, such as:

*What business experience do they have?

*Do they have testimonials you can read?

*What type of businesses do they help and in what ways have they helped them?

*Do they have any success stories?

Does your future coach have a successful business besides his or her coaching business? This is really important, because I actually don't believe in business coaches, whose only activity is coaching.

What Questions Do They Ask You?

When you have your thirty minute trial, pay special attention to the questions that your coach asks you. Do they seem genuinely interested in your business? Are they taking the time to try to understand what you hope to achieve through coaching, or are they simply following some basic formula that they could apply to any business.

Also, do you feel a rapport with them? It is important to find a business coach that you feel comfortable working with, or your sessions will probably be a waste of time.

Do They Actually Have Proven Business Skills?

When you're speaking to a business coach, establish what business skills they have. Yes you already know that they are running a business coaching business now, but what business experience did they have before that? Ask for names of specific businesses they have owned, or helped to grow. And make sure that they have real business experiences and they didn't have some lowly middle management job in those companies.

Business coaching can be wonderful for anyone who wants to grow their business. Just make sure you are careful when it comes to choosing the right business coaching for you. You don't want to waste money on someone who can't help you make more money for your business.
