Weddings and good music are almost naturally entwined

. A wedding is inarguably one of the best moments in someone's lifetime. Music is the universal expression of joy and good times. It sets the mood of a wedding and reception ceremony.

You want the wedding day to be perfect, then you have to get this two parts right. So how does one go about choosing the right type of music that will keep every guest tuned in at both the wedding and reception ceremony?

This can get quite tricky given all the arrangements that have to be done before the actual day arrives. With good planning however, you can combine your wedding day with good music that will make the day memorable for years to come.

During the ceremony itself, choose music that will compliment the atmosphere that you wish to depict. This can be religious, classical, contemporary, or perhaps a combination of styles.

Most brides prefer a traditional classical wedding ceremony but more and more are getting adventurous. People are trying out special wedding themes such as Baroque, New Age, Classical, Jazz and even Scottish wedding ceremonies. All these themes require you select music that will compliment the atmosphere of the ceremony.

If you are getting married in a church, it is advisable you check with the minister about the music policy. Different denominations have acceptable and unacceptable unwritten rules of the type of music that can be played during the wedding. You should consult first so you don't get disappointed at the last minute.

If your church has no strict restrictions regarding the type of music to be played, then good taste should always prevail. Do not go for popular "hits" which have a few months lifespan on the air waves. These are more suited for the reception ceremony. You want the wedding music to be classical pieces which evoke emotion among the guests. The kind of music they will always be associating with your wedding ceremony.

After the wedding, it is party time. While the wedding ceremony was gracious and formal, the reception is a place to let loose and enjoy your selves. The type of music you choose will influence the tone of the entire party.
