, has a lot of features that you may not have been aware of. Here are some tips on how to properly check out what's available on the market and find the right whiteboard for your school.

Make A List. There are so many features available on whiteboards these days that if you just walk into a store or start searching around online, you might get a little bit overwhelmed. If that is the case, what you'll want to do is just sit down, do a little research, and write up a list of the things that you want your whiteboard to be able to do. For example, of you are going to be doing a lot of video conferencing and you want your students to be able to interface with the software you are going to be using, that is something you will have to consider. Take your time in this stage of the process, so you get something with all the features you want, and don't spend money on things you will never use.

Research. And do it as thoroughly as you have time for, just to get a sense of what is out there and what features are available to you. If you are looking for a whiteboard for an elementary school, for instance, you might want to keep an eye out for a board that can stand up to less than gentle use, and that is easy to clean. Some of the boards that are designed for you to use with electric pens can also be written upon with just your fingers, and this might be something that is appealing in a grade school situation.

If you are looking for something for your college, search out features such as interactivity and ability to work seamlessly with whatever software you intend to use. Really, the sky is the limit when you are talking about the modern whiteboard, so you may have to reign yourself in a little bit in order to just get the features you truly believe you will need.

Shopping. You will likely be doing most of this online, as that is where you are going to find the best prices and the most variety, but if there is a place nearby that you can go to and actually try a few different whiteboards out, by all means do it. This is a great way to get some hands on experience, and get a feel for what these boards are able to do. Though the information is likely the same as you have been finding on the Internet, grab a few different brochures just to have some more material to refer to before you make your final purchase.

Accessories.If the board you are looking at comes with an electric pen, what is your recourse if it malfunctions or breaks? Is there a spare included, or how much will a replacement cost? If your board is interactive, what visual aids are available to go along with it? Do all the necessary cables come included?
