However, there are many admirable traits of small towns. One of the things that many people like about small towns is that it is generally easy to make friendships that are long lasting and meaningful.
In the city, people often move about and someone you talk to for five minutes you may never see again. People often enjoy the friendships made in small towns because they are not made based on the high school agenda such as social status or how rich or poor you are.
You will have friends that are rich and poor, friendly and less easy to talk to. In addition, you will know that you will be able to depend on your friends when you need help.
Likewise, they know when they need help they can turn to you. In large cities, there is so much going on that it can be hard to spend time building meaningful relationships with your friends.
With the other distractions gone in small towns, you will be able to take the time to enjoy the relationships that you have. Celebrations in small towns, while they may not be expensive, are elaborate affairs because everyone pitches in to help.
Another benefit of living in a small town is the housing. Housing is generally cheaper in a small town than it is in a large city.
While you may spend a certain amount of money in the city for a decent one bedroom apartment, you could spend the same amount of money in a small town to purchase a large and spacious house. The apartment is hardly conducive to having a family.
One of the greatest joys in life that you can experience is having a family of your own. Be sure to plan ahead for a family by purchasing the home which will allow you to have a family.
Many people also enjoy living in small towns because of the opportunities there are there for them. Even though there may not be as many employment opportunities, small towns are often the best locations to start a family business.
