Cleaning Restaurant Furniture

After spending a good chunk of change on restaurant furniture

, it's important to keep it well maintained. Who wants to spend that amount of money again months down the road because you didn't do all you could to keep them well kept. Being in the food industry and with such a high daily traffic, it won't take long for them to get dirty or banged up. Not to mention, customers aren't always concerned about taking good care of your furniture. To ensure restaurant chairs and tables stay in excellent condition, they will need daily cleaning.

Upholstered seating looks great but depending on the material, it can sometimes be a bit more work to clean. Usually a damp cloth and some mild detergent works well on vinyl or leather seating, but stains can be trickier. Vinyl is easier to maintain though and durable (not to mention it will be a cheaper option). Stick with soapy water and a damp cloth and avoid oils which can damage the upholstery. If any spills do happen, do your best to clean them up very quickly. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to clean.

For wood tables and chairs you will need to avoid water. A soft, dry cloth should suffice. Table clothes will provide a nice barrier for the table. Choose thicker tablecloths that will absorb any spills and hopefully they will not leak through to the table. It's not only a cost-effective way to protect the table, it looks better if you're going for a more "fancy" look to your restaurant. But if you're going for that Western theme, you will have to be extra careful with your tables. Purchase wood polishing furniture to keep tables pristine and to maintain water resistance. Use placemats to further protect the restaurant tables.

Outdoor restaurant furniture should be a bit easier to take care of since it's meant to go outdoors. However, that doesn't mean you should keep them outdoors during a torrential downpour. They should still be covered but quality furniture will have a higher resistance to outside elements. It's also good to take them in when not in use so the color does not fade from the sun. Cleaning is easy. Just use a damp cloth to wipe them down.

With a little bit of elbow grease and daily cleanings, you can prolong the life and usage of restaurant furniture. Put in the effort and you will reap the rewards with long lasting furniture and customers who are happy to sit on clean chairs and eat off sparkling tables.
