. Pupils have to feel comfortable, they have to feel safe, they have to feel as though their opinions matter and they have to feel that the whole process is worthwhile and of benefit to them. This means there are a lot of different ways to interact with pupils to make them feel as though they are getting the benefit from the educational system but it has to be said that educational technology is a great way to assist pupils in making the most out of their time in school.
One of the ways that pupils can be made to feel comfortable in school is to interact with them in the way that they may behave or act at home. There will obviously be limits to this but using educational technology is a great way to get the most from pupils. Most pupils will have a degree of comfort and experience in using technology products at home and there is nothing scary about using computers, consoles, tablets, smart phones or other weird and wonderful gadgets. Bringing this experience and expertise into the classroom environment is a great way to harness the skills that pupils have developed on their own time.
On one level, it will make the classroom experience feel less like it is taking place in a classroom. If a pupil can use the same motions in using student response systems as they would do when using a laptop at home or the controls for their games console, it will make the education process seem less daunting. Confidence is one of the biggest things that can help or hinder a pupil at school so anything which makes their time in class easier and less stressful has to be considered of benefit. Educational technology can replicate the technological products that are found in the home to help people feel more comfortable when answering questions or interacting with others.
Educational technology is not the only solution to helping children perform better at school but there is no doubt that it can bring about a great range of benefits and additional assistance that should help pupils make the most of their time. Inspiring and giving confidence to pupils is as important as providing them with intelligence and this should never be forgotten in the educational process.
