An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required for all air conditioning systems over 250kW, and after January 2011 the output level is 12kW. Why has the government introduced these measures? When it comes to have your unit inspected you need to ensure that you have it done by a company with the right qualifications and experience, otherwise you could end up paying a hefty fine. A company who carries out your inspection should have all reports filed with the Department for Communities & Local Government through Stroma Accreditation.
