Common Panic Attack Symptoms You Will Experience
There are lots of panic attack symptoms that you could experience
, but almost everybody experiences the fear and nervousness that panic attacks bring.
A number of things happen during a panic attack, but the main thing is that your fear response is out of control. It is disproportionate to the current situation that you're in, which is usually not very threatening.
While most people are able to tolerate some panic attacks, other people allow them to cripple their quality of life, both socially and professionally.
10 minutes is about how long the average attack usually lacks. But for those of us who have suffered through them it always seems like it can last an eternity. Here are the most common panic attack symptoms that are reported.
1. Increased respiratory rate: Most people report having difficulty breathing and may even feel like they are suffocating.
2. Rapid heart rate: Almost anyone who's ever experienced a panic attack knows that this dramatically increases.
3. Intense feeling of fear: Most people suddenly become very frightful even in every day calm situations like a meeting.
4. Feeling like they are choking: Many people report that they are feeling smothered or almost like they're being choked when they have to sit in a confined area.
5. Feeling dizzy: Many people report feeling faint and even dizzy. The most likely cause of this is rapid changes in your blood pressure.
6. Shaking and trembling: Due to the increased adrenaline response many people experience shaking and trembling of their hands or legs.
7. Sweating: Most people will sweat during a panic attack mainly from the increase in fear.
8. Nausea: This panic attack symptom is not as common as others, but some people do feel like they have a stomach ache.
9. Tingling of the fingers: Due to a heightened awareness of your body's nervous system, you may feel the tips of your fingers feeling more tingly.
10. Urge to use the bathroom: Due to your fight or flight response many people have an increased urge to use the restroom.
The two biggest causes of panic disorder are major life changes and stress. It is reported that 2.4 million adults are affected by this condition which is twice as common in women as in men.
One of the best things that you can do besides seeking a doctor's advice is to learn under which situations you experience panic attacks most frequently.
Soda, coffee, and other caffeinated products can be the cause of many panic attacks. Many times, just by reducing these you can eliminate your panic attacks.
While it may seem impossible right now, you will eventually get over your panic attack symptoms. In order for you to do this, you need to learn as much as you can about panic attack symptoms.
