The supporting evidence plays a main role in the US Citizenship application process

It is the duty of the applicant to provide a copy of all the required evidence . The basic supporting documents would be a photocopy of the Permanent Resident Card, birth certificate, a copy of a document on name change (if any), marriage certificate (if applying based on marriage) and two identical, color, passport-style photographs. Later at interview they will be required to submit the originals for reference.
