Did you grow up figuring that you would graduate from high school and then go onto college
? Did you ever think through the process of graduating from college? Maybe you just figured you would get started and then go with whatever came at you. Then there were those that had their minds made up and they were going to finish their education regardless of what happened. For some they didn't have a vision of going to college and never got started.
If you were like me you went to college for so long and changed your major so many times that you never got one major completed. I ended up being within a year of two different degrees and ended up having a baby and being so sick through the pregnancy that I had to quit school. Then the baby came and I had plans to go back and finish, but then more children came and now it is twelve years down the road and I haven't gone back. I would like to go back, but don't know quite where to start or how I would do it with our schedule.
All of those things are behind you now and the decisions that you made then are things you can't change, but what you can change is what you do with your life now. Many are facing unemployment and having difficulty getting jobs. One of the best things you can do with your life now is go back to school and further your education as an adult and get a degree and look forward to a great future.
You might be thinking that there is no way that you could go back due to children or the unknown. Did you know that there are places that provide continuing education and you can pick up where you left off? The other thing is that there are places that realize that adults need to further their education and they might need to come on the weekends or in the evenings to make it work for their schedule.
The other nice thing is that you don't have to feel like you are going to school with a bunch of teenagers that might not be able to relate to what you are going through right now. You can be among friends and other adults that are going through similar things. Getting your education as an adult can be a very positive experience and you will find the things that you learn will be so much more valuable and useful for your future.
