Cornish Cottage Holidays start new video channel

Cornish Cottage Holidays (CCH) has started work on a new online video channel to ensure their customers have the best possible holiday in Cornwall.

Karl Shaddick, Social Content Co-ordinator and newest member of the CCH team, said he was proud to be leading the venture.

"This is certainly an exciting and dynamic project for our company. It will be great to not only engage with our customers, but also other businesses around Cornwall. This is a prime example of the special care and attention we take to make sure every single one of our customers is catered for,'' Karl said.

A Broadcasting graduate from University College Falmouth, Karl has lived in Cornwall for over 5 years and has a broad range of experience in media communications. In his new role as Social Content Co-ordinator he oversees all online social media content to ensure CCH is a cut above the competition.

Karl recently participated in the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) scheme, which matches talented graduates with progressive Cornish companies to fuel innovation, growth, creativity, competitiveness and economic prosperity in Cornwall.

'All the people at UCP were really helpful with pointing me in the right direction. The scheme is great for graduates looking for the right job in a highly competitive market. I'm glad to be working for a company that can fully utilise and develop my talents,'' he said.

For the new video project, a professional team of broadcasters will be travelling far and wide to promote and showcase the very best in Cornish attractions. The short online video features will look at everything from famous eateries to adventure activities for the whole family to enjoy, he said.

'Cornwall has some of the best restaurants and attractions in the country. We need to make sure our guests have the best possible time in this wonderful location.''

The application process for a hopeful Video Channels Presenters will begin 'very soon.''

"What we're looking for is some exciting young minds to bring something interesting to the table, so the search is now on We see these features as a way of promoting Cornwall as a destination and also serving as an interactive holiday guide for all of our guests," he said.

Video production is expected to start by the end of April. Cornish Cottage Holidays would love to hear from budding presenters from all over Cornwall and would like to encourage students and graduates from media courses at University College Falmouth and Truro College to apply.
