Corrections Museum - Where Death & Dishonesty Is Exposed

Located on the Maha Chai Road of Bangkok, Thailand is the Corrections Museum that

was once known to be a maximum security prison back in the 1890s during the leadership of King Rama V. The least visited museum in Bangkok is however, the most talked about due to its history and scenes of punishment exposed to the public eye. Although the museum has no walk in access, an appointment can be made prior to your visit to book a tour through the Museum.

This brutal prison was rebuilt and named Romanni Nart Park in 1996 as a museum to illustrate the life and times of maximum security and punishment carried out on offenders in Thailand. While touring through the facility built with three floors, each block offering a scary description and educative story of the prison compound.

The first block offers an attractor with photographs of the previous compounds that include the prison, the older museum built in 1987 and the museum that remains as of now. More pictures and objects that were used to process harassment and executions are also exhibited. The second block is where wax statues depict each execution carried out by the prison guards at the time. Some so gruesome that the fainted hearted should think twice about experiencing. The third block shows off furniture, fine items, handicrafts and other hand creations crafted by the prisoners during their imprisonment.
