Create A New You Before You Create A New Business

Before you get to know who I am, it's best to know who I was.

Growing up the youngest in my middle income family, I was rarely given something new, instead I was the receiver of a lot of hand-me-down clothes and toys from my two older brothers, but that never bothered me because I looked up to my brothers and it was a great joy to have something that once belonged to them. My parents raised me with the morals and ethics that their wholesome, middle American parents had instilled in them (and one day I wish to pass them on to my children). My education was earned through the local public school system and after graduating high school I was lucky enough to be accepted to North Carolina State (and even luckier to be able to pay for it).

You see, this was part of my master plan at the time. At the time, my best friend's father owned a local textile plant and NC State was the college to attend to learn textiles. My vision was to graduate with my textile degree, work at the plant in my home town near my family and friends and life would be good. As the saying goes, "Life is what happens while you make plans."

Yes, I did receive my degree, but after graduation the textile industry had dried up like fruit on a vine after a long draught. I returned to my home town to seek the position I wanted only to learn my best friend's dad was retiring and selling his plant in the process. My dream had been KO'd just seconds after stepping into the ring! After dozens of interviews I was lucky enough to land a position with a small textile plant, far away from my friends and family. Little did I know, while I was working there the textile world outside was still imploding. I would work for three more companies in the next five years.

I was jobless in the worst job market in 70 years, with a mortgage, bills, and every other expense you could imagine. In between looking for jobs, I was also looking for a way to make money from home (who wasn't?). I read websites about pills, potions, juices and energy drinks, but none of the representatives I spoke to could give me a definitive answer on how to be successful. It wasn't until I met someone who was truly successful and spoke volumes of honesty that I was given the most important piece of advice to be successful, "If you want to create a new lifestyle for yourself you have to create a new you."

To be successful you will need to change your mindset. This can be achieved by:* Educating yourself and learning new internet skills. * Seeking as many forms of inspiration as you can to stay positive. * Cutting out negative influences and distractions in your life.* Focusing on the things you want, not the things you don't have. The best way to do this is by daily visualizing your goals. Create a dream board of all the things you want to accomplish in your with your online business and put the board where you work the most on your online business. * Helping others by providing valuable advice through articles, blogs and forums. * Taking care of yourself physically as well as mentally.When you start an online business you become the owner of a million dollar business and the success of that business depends on you.
