Creating Email Newsletters - Subject Does Matter

, But You Matter More

If you have thousands of read and unread mails in it, crowding one another like a flock of black goats scurrying down the hills, then you know that there's only one thing to do:

Massive deletion of emails.

The way you sort through all those bytes, and letters could be by judging from the sender. Who send the email? Is it somebody worth reading?

If you cannot remember the person, or if you know that he rarely sends you something of interest, you don't spend as much as a second checking the subject. You delete the email right away.

If, on the other hand, you know and trust the sender, you might give the subject a glance to see, if it's worth your valuable time to open and read the email.

In order for your emails to get read, you should first work on getting your subscriber to trust you. Even better -- you could make him wait eagerly for each of your emails.

You do that by writing valuable content, and by relating to your readers.

Valuable content doesn't necessarily mean free content. It could be your teaching something, and then referring to a product, which makes the whole process easier. What matters is that this should be relevant to your prospect.

You should also be personal in your mails. A few people will hate it, when you tell about your new kitten, or about your dog, who ate your dinner the other night. Most people will love it and feel that they know you. They relate to you. And then it will not be your mails that are automatically deleted, when they are cleaning up their email boxes.

From the beginning, you should work on building a relationship with your reader. Moreover, of course, you should also try to create catching subjects as well.

If you don't catch your reader's interest with the subject line, you will need to have a much stronger relationship build with them. Making it interesting to open your mails will ensure a higher open rate. And you need your subscribers to open your mails in order for you to build the relationship with them, and, of course, to send them relevant offers.

Choose the best auto-responder

When you're creating email newsletters, it's important that you use the best auto-responder possible. Or you risk losing subscribers.

I've tried several, and I've no doubt that AWeber is the best. You can get a free test drive from my blog: http://getmoneymakingideas.com/aweber.html
