You can then make a schedule. Every day everyone in the family can treat one individual to a bed and breakfast experience.
Take the time to make sure that your schedule works with everyone else's schedules. This is a great opportunity to bond with your children as you cook with them in the morning.
Wake up earlier than usual and get one of the favorite breakfasts prepared for the special individual. You can then garnish the tray with some fresh flowers or even some freshly squeezed juice.
When you finish make sure that you clean up after yourself so you do not leave anything for the special guest to see. After you have made breakfast for the individual you can wait for them to get ready for the day and play his or her favorite board game.
By making breakfast and playing games together you will not only be able to enjoy some time with your family but you will also be in the position to get to know the kids in a different environment.
You will be serving one another and enjoying each other's company. You may not be able to relax a lot on the days that are not yours to be treated, but it will be well worth it in the long run.
If you do not like the idea of making breakfast in bed for each person, you can also make a big breakfast for everyone. You can even give out assignments to each of the children that are capable of making something.
Making sure that everyone has their necessary ingredients and the space and time may be a little stressful, but is definitely possible. By sitting together as a family to enjoy breakfast you can plan out the rest of your vacation at home.
Visiting local parks or museums can be fun and the museums can also be very informative. There are a lot of people that do not take advantage of the parks and museums that are closest to them because they are easy to overlook.
You can also look at a tourist book for your city. By asking yourself what tourists would do while they were in your town you will be able to come up with a lot of great activities for you and your family.
If you do not think there is much to do around your town you can make some great activities to do at home. There are a lot of fun crafts and activities that your children may have a great time doing with you.
When you are planning on vacationing in your own home you want to make sure that you take the time to plan the vacation. You and your children are not going to enjoy just sitting at home being bored.
Staying away from work is something that will also be necessary to keep the feeling of a vacation. You want to make sure that you do not get your children excited for a vacation that you are not prepared to have.
Being honest with your children is also important when you are planning to vacation from your own home. Your children may not understand why you are not going on your annual trip or why you are calling being at home a vacation.
You do not need to be detailed about your financial situation, but just letting them know that this is the vacation that you could afford should be enough. Your children may surprise you with how much fun they can have from home.
