Dallas Cowboys Tickets - Cowboys Loaded With Top Fantasy Players
The Cowboys have big expectations this year with their heavily talented team on offense and defense
. Expectations extend beyond team wins and losses, however, as the Cowboys also boast a plethora of players that can help you win your fantasy league. Let's look at the top options this season on the Cowboys.
Miles Austin, Wide Receiver:
Austin came out of nowhere last season to be one of the most productive receivers in the entire league. After putting up 81 catches, 1,320 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2009, Austin has solidified himself as Tony Romo's go-to guy and has the most fantasy potential out of any of the players on the high-octane Cowboys offense. Austin projects as a solid second or early third-rounder in most fantasy leagues and seems to be in position for another very big year.
Projection: 88 catches, 1,400 yards, 9 touchdowns.
Tony Romo, Quarterback:
Though he has been a viable fantasy quarterback for a couple of seasons now, this is Romo's year to shine. Not only does he finally have a non-diva number one wideout to anchor his receiving corps, he also has two very talented potential number two options in rookie Dez Bryant and Roy Williams. And that's not even mentioning tight end Jason Witten, who has been one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the league in recent years. As long as Jessica Simpson doesn't make a sudden reappearance in the Cowboys clubhouse, Romo is ready to roll this year and should be near the top of the second-tier quarterbacks behind Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning.
Projection: 34 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 4,600 yards.
Jason Witten, Tight End:
Most fantasy managers will look for Dallas Clark, Antonio Gates or even Vernon Davis at the tight end position, but Witten continues to be an elite option. Witten had an eye-popping 94 catches last season and more than 1,000 yards, which is an unbelievably productive season for a tight end. The only possible reservation for someone considering Witten is that he doesn't get into the end zone all that often and had just two touchdowns in 2009. Still, I expect the offense as a whole to grow and for Romo to throw more touchdowns this season, which should translate to more touchdowns for Witten.
Projection: 80 catches, 950 yards, 6 touchdowns.
Marion Barber, Running Back:
There's no doubt that Barber has lost a bit of value with the emergence of Felix Jones, a flashier player who sells more Dallas Cowboys tickets. But Barber is still one of the hardest runners in the league and averaged a very solid 4.4 yards per carry last year to go along with 932 yards and seven touchdowns. Barber isn't a number one option, but can be a very good number two or three option with 10-touchdown potential due to the top-tier Cowboys offense.
Projection: 800 yards rushing, 150 yards receiving, 9 touchdowns.
Felix Jones, Running Back:
Jones is simply too talented to not give the ball to, and the Cowboys will likely expand his role in 2010. While Barber is still the unquestioned short yardage back, look for Jones to get considerably more overall carries than last season; with an increased workload, Jones could even be a dark horse to get to 1,000 yards rushing.
Projection: 950 yards rushing, 150 yards receiving, 6 touchdowns.
Roy Williams, Wide Receiver:
Nobody doubts Williams' talent, though some have questioned his willingness to work like a number one wide receiver. Williams has more natural talent - by far - than Miles Austin, yet Williams now finds himself competing for the number two receiving spot. Fantasy managers shouldn't overlook Williams, however, as the presence of Dez Bryant should motivate Williams to have a big season. I also expect the Cowboys to utilize plenty of three-receiver sets and for Romo to spread the ball around.
Projection: 55 catches, 850 yards, 7 touchdowns.
Dez Bryant, Wide Receiver:
Forget all the nonsense about the shoulder pads and Bryant's resistance to mild rookie hazing; he can play football. He's big, fast and has a great set of hands, which is why he could one day be a very productive number one receiver. Though Romo has too many red zone targets to get Bryant into the end zone a lot, Bryant still has big play potential and should get plenty of looks all season long.
Projection: 48 catches, 800 yards, 5 touchdowns.
