Dallas Cowboys Tickets - Cowboys Start Season With Win

The NFL season has officially started, marked by the 2010 Hall of Fame game at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio at Fawcett Stadium

. The 2010 Hall of Fame Game saw a matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals, both of which are shouldering high expectations for the 2010 season. The Cowboys ended up on top in the matchup with a low-scoring 16-7 victory.

From the very beginning both teams seemed a little rusty, but the Cowboys struck first, starting the scoring with a 20-yard field goal by David Buehler in the first quarter. In fact, Buehler would be the only one to score until the fourth quarter. He also had a 34-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 23-yeard field goal in the third quarter.

Ironically, it was the Cowboys' defense that had the only touchdown of the game, when linebacker Brandon Sharpe returned an interception for six yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Cincinnati Bengals answered with a touchdown of their own later in the fourth quarter, coming from a one-yard pass from quarterback Jordan Palmer to tight end Darius Hill. Palmer is the brother of fellow Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer.

Although none of the Cowboys' quarterbacks had a touchdown, none had an interception, either. Starter Tony Romo was five of 10 for 59 yards, while Stephen McGee was 12 of 22 for 116 yards, John Kitna was four of seven for 56 yards and Matt Nichols was two of two for nine yards. Tashard Choice was the top rusher of the night, tallying 41 yards on seven carries. John Phillips was the top receiver, with four receptions for 60 yards. The game also reunited the Cowboys with former Cowboy and outspoken wide receiver Terrell Owens, who recently signed on for the season with the Bengals.

The game took place one day after the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2010 was formally enshrined on Aug. 7. The Cowboys have a connection with this year's class, because one of the inductees is former star Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith, who played for Dallas from 1990 to 2002. Also in this year's Hall of Fame class were guard Russ Grimm (Washington Redskins), linebacker Rickey Jackson (New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers), cornerback Dick LeBeau (Detroit Lions), running back Floyd Little (Denver Broncos), defensive tackle John Randle (Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks)and Jerry Rice (San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks).

The rest of the league stars their preseason a week after the Hall of Fame game. The Cowboys have their first home game in a preseason matchup against the Oakland Raiders on Aug. 12. The Cowboys' other preseason games are against the San Diego Chargers, Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins. Fans will be clamoring for Dallas Cowboys tickets as the team's regular season starts on Sept. 12 against the Washington Redskins. Last season, the Cowboys finished at the top of their division with a record of 11-5, and they lost in the divisional round after topping the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild card round.
