David M. Bittle Had A Successful Career At Uscg
David M. Bittle is a highly accomplished USCG Chief Petty Officer (retired). He has
served the United States Coast Guard for over 24 years. He is an experienced professional in the field of supervising civilian, military and government agency personnel in emergency response, security and environmental disasters. He utilizes his valuable blend of leadership skills to deal with issues of first response, investigations, team allocation, process management, inspection and security countermeasures. Mr. Bittle has special expertise in areas of oil spill, hazardous material, and WMD response. He has always shown a proven ability to access situations and analyze various courses of actions to make vital decisions.
As Chief of Security at the USCG Base Support Unit in Boston from 2006 to 2011, his duties were to supervise and manage the elements of the overall USCG Security Program.
David M. Bittle developed and directed security strategy, plans and procedures; planned and tested emergency response plans and operations recovery tactics. He also supervised, trained and qualified both government and contracted civilian personnel. Additionally, he planned advanced security risk assessment and also administrated effective physical and personal security. He has been consistently promoted due to his excellent performance shown in completing various tasks assigned to him.
Throughout these years,
David M. Bittle has been awarded with several honors and accolades. Some of his awards include Coast Guard Commendation Medal (2), Coast Guard Achievement Medals (2), Coast Guard Meritorious Team Awards (4), National Defense Service Medals (2) and many more. He also received The Secretarys Outstanding Unit Award for outstanding performance in New York Harbor following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center from September 11, 2001 through October 22, 2001.
David M. Bittle is a trained 40 hour hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) instructor. He is also a small arms instructor and has served as ordnance safety inspector for high explosive ammunition transfers. He holds MA Class A Large Capacity License to Carry Firearms (no restrictions) and U.S. Merchant Mariners 100 Ton Captains License with Towing Endorsement. Presently, he is studying at American Military University and planning to graduate in Homeland Security by July, 2012.
