The Brother GL-200 garden label printer is a horticulturist and gardener dream come true. It is not only for these but can be used by anyone in general but has so many great features to accommodate the gardener. This label printer can be used to print labels to help organize your potting shed, your tool display, you rusty coffee cans, those seedling pots, or anything you want to label to organize.

The GL-200 can print on three different widths of label from the Brother's TZ range of tape cartridges. All of these labels are resistant to fading in rain and sun. They can also stand up to temperatures up to 150 degrees Celsius all the way down to 80 below Celsius meaning they could even hold up in outer space. There is a range of colors of these label tapes and also matte finishes, strong adhesive types, and flexi ID. Each one of these ranges allows for some very interesting and fancy or decorative combination of characters for your labeling needs. To enhance your labeling even more you can print in various styles and on fancy borders.

The GL-200 can be powered from a mains adaptor or six AAA batteries but neither is included. The case developed for this printer is designed to accommodate a belt loop if a pocket is too small. There are more optional accessories such as the replacement cutter blade and a tape separator tool that really comes in handy.

The keyboard is alphabetical which will slow down the QWERTY keyboard person and it accommodates up to twelve characters that can be 6mm high in just one line. This is only offered in 5 x 7 characters which will prove to be unhandy for the 83 special symbols that are available.

There is only one font, the Helsinki, that is offered but it is offered in three basic sizes each having three levels of character compression that can print up to two lines of text. It can print mirror image if needed for transparent tape and the label printer can also print vertically for upright labels.

There is a manual tape cutter incorporated in this label printer for detaching these labels once they are printed and it has a sensor that will report an error if it didn't retract properly after a cut due to long use and clogged with adhesive residue.

The date/time stamp is a great feature and the setup for the calendar/clock is great to have on this printer. These can be done with the Features key. Another useful feature is the Preview where you can see what your label will look like before printing. One of the other features that is really helpful is the chain printing that gives you control to copy more than one label. So this label printer seems to be a very helpful and fun way to organize.
