Desperate Housewives Refuse To Pay The Cost Of Artificial Insemination

So many women with fertility problems are sick and tired of the poor success rate

and high cost of artificial insemination ? Conventional infertility treatment is simply not an attractive prospect. Women dread it, but think of it as the only option to getting pregnant.

You only need to glance at the many online forums dedicated to infertility in women to understand the level of frustration and desperation experienced by women who can't get pregnant.

Below are the 3 biggest reasons why so many desperate women have walked away from conventional treatments of infertility and have embraced new natural, holistic methods instead.

1). The cost of artificial insemination is hard to predict and can escalate dramatically

Artificial Insemination has been a common infertility treatment since the '70s. The treatment involves artificially placing the sperm inside a woman's cervix or uterus (intrauterine insemination or "IUI").

The exact cost of IUI is hard to estimate. Success depends on the health and fertility of the father and mother. Luck has a big part to play. And the uncertainty becomes a major source of stress for couples who choose to embark on a course of IUI.

But as a rule of thumb, success rates of IUI are low at 5 - 15% per session. Couples usually take between 5 and 10 sessions to increase their chances. The price of a session is typically between $300 up to $500, which normally means the total cost of IUI is between $1500 and $5000. Some couples need to resort to borrowing to fund these sessions.

2). Next comes IVF, where costs can soon spiral beyond the reach of most couples

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a more expensive treatment which often follows when IUI is unsuccessful. IVF involves the removal of eggs from the woman's ovaries and fertilization in a laboratory. The words "in vitro" mean "in glass" or test tube. That is where the phrase "test tube baby" comes from!

IVF usually delivers a better success rate, but still only 28 to 35% of the time. The real shocker is that the price of an IVF session can reach a staggering $10,000, when all costs are factored in. Large final bills are commonplace. When all treatments have been completed, a final bill of $30K to $50K is not uncommon. Some European countries will fund a few IVF sessions, as will some US States.

3). Side effects can be nasty

According to a study in the New England Journal of Medicine women who took a fertility drug commonly used alongside IUI and IVF were three times more likely to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer compared to those who did not take the drug. Although only one study, that can be a concern.

Also, there are the emotional effects to consider. A lot of men will suffer from a loss of confidence and may shut down emotionally. Some become angry as a result of feeling inadequate. Women can feel angry that their husband has a fertility problem.

But the toughest test of all? Couples will tell you it is when the results of infertility tests come back with the dreaded "unexplained infertility" result. The uncertainty of what is causing the problem and who is "to blame" creates challenges in even the strongest relationship.

But here is the good news. All this is about to change. Holistic, natural methods have come onto the market recently and they have proven to be far healthier and obviously much cheaper than the standard treatments of infertility.

Many "desperate" women have achieved astounding successes with these new natural treatments. Women in their 30s and 40s have achieved great results.

Also, quite amazingly, women previously diagnosed cases of tubal obstruction have enjoyed great success. So too have many women previously diagnosed with Endometriosis or high levels of FSH. Their personal stories can bring a tear to the eye.

Conception can often occur within only a matter of months. And the really great part is that these methods are holistic, which means they work in sync with your whole body to deal with the underlying root cause of your infertility.

So, if you want to put the heartache and cost of artificial insemination behind you, make sure you consider a natural, holistic, method as one of the best ways to get pregnant.
