The popularity of blu ray films has risen in excellent numbers in the past 10 years

The rate that HDTV's are running off the shelves is astronomical. Especially since they were released in only 1998. Sony-Phillips introduced the very first blu ray disc at an exhibition in late 2000. The product was widely accepted from the crowd, who all wanted to know when it would be released to the public. In April of 2003, about three years later, the very first blu ray discs and devices were on shelves everywhere.

A ton of excellent movies are now available on blu ray. These great titles, however, where among the first to be released on blu ray: The Terminator, The Fifth Element and Underworld: Evolution. This exciting new method to watch films was and will continue to be exciting to individuals around the world.

There has been an amazing difference between the number of people who were buying blu ray at the beginning, 2006 about 1.6 million people, to the number of individuals who buy blu ray now, which is about 177.2 million. Many studios are also changing the way they sell films as well. Some began just selling blu ray movies while some are doing a half and half thing where they have both dvd and blu ray in one pack or one on either side. When there's either one on both sides this is called a flipper disc. Studies have shown that the more people rent blu rays the lower the cost stays and the more movies come out in the blu ray format.

Blue ray has even adapted to this new 3D age. They started producing their movies compatible for 3D film and 3D tv. Playstation has even released the update for their game system's to play not only 3D film and television, but also 3D games.

There is a new mini-blu ray for recording on camcorders along with other small recording devices. They're about 8cm in diameter. They are very similar to the mini-cd and mini-dvd's. It's easy to download these videos to any blu ray compatible pc and pass them on to friends and family.

Blu ray has presented a new way of watching movies. The visual is so crisp and clear. The audio is even much more crisp. It has changed everything about movie viewing. Mostly everyone recommend switching over from dvd to blu ray. It is suggested that if you still have only a dvd player to switch over to blu ray.
