Developing Habits to Cultivate and Nourish for Success and Happiness

Most of us want to change our lives to be happier

, healthier and, of course, wealthier. However, our familial, and social conditioning have defined most of our habits, behaviors, and attitudes. Fortunately, if we are willing to change our deep routed, ingrained habits for better or replace them altogether with new set of habits with conscious efforts, we can become better parents, spouses, and better individuals.

Here we outline some of the habit one can develop or strengthen to bring out the true potential within all of us.

Perspective

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What we see is the outcome of what we want to see. Our perspectives shape our world. In other words, each one of us would think and treat situations differently.


It is, indeed, very important to change our perspective to see things differently. This is a great technique to help in brainstorming and in problem solving. In practice, always look for or develop two sides of any thing we deal with. For example, we can always think out of the box to solve the problems differently. A successful troubleshooter would always develop two, or more than two, different plausible explanations to a problem at hand. Ideally, we should use both creative side and logical side of the brain to arrive at a solution.

Planning

For the happiest life, one should rigorously plan day, nights left open to chance.

Mignon McLaughlin might be a little obsessive about something that you probably think is out of your control. By 9:00 a.m., your plans are way off the mark. Nevertheless, at least you have a plan. In addition, when you have the chance, you can pick up your plan and try to make the best of it. Without a plan, the inevitable interruptions will just blow you this way and that, the day will be over, and you will not accomplish any of the things you failed to plan.

Be prepared for life to throw its twists and turns, to force you to alter your plans. However, make sure you have plans for it to alter.

Sleeping

A study showed how the very best violinist in the world gets eight hours sleep every night. It is part of his routine, part of his commitment to excellence. The average American gets 6.5 hours. During sleep, our body undertakes all kinds of repair work to replace or remove damages tissues or cells, or brain assimilates the information processed during the day through our senses. Moreover, it is healthy, indeed, to retire early to bed and wake up before sunrise.

Breathing


Very few of us breathe right. Most of us breathe shallow. Deep and long breathing has many health benefits. Breathing right can reduce stress. A healthy breathing involves deep, relaxed breathing. Purposeful breathing can help us escape quickly from where stress can lead. So if you start feeling blue, take deep breathes thru slow and measured inhale and exhale.

Follow these simple to follow suggestions to bring positive changes in your life. Once you start implement these suggestions, you will see your life changing gradually over a period. Further, try to learn and adapt new ideas that can catapult you to much higher success, and happiness than you originally intended.
