Devikulam Hill Station Offers Breathtaking Attractions

It is ideally located in the Idukki district at an altitude of 1800 m above sea level. This gorgeous destination boasts of lush green slopes, rich flora and fauna, picturesque surroundings, tea and coffee gardens and mesmerizing lake. The term Devikulam means 'the pond or lake of the Devi'. According to the legend Goddess Sita once bathed in the lake of Devikulam.

This hill station is located only 16 km from Munnar which is also a known hill station of Kerala. Stroll through its spice and coffee gardens for a refreshing experience. For adventure enthusiasts this place offers great opportunities for trekking, rock climbing and angling.

Idukki

Located near Devikulam, Idukki is a wonderful region hemmed in by mountains. Lush green vegetation is another attraction of this place. Its star attraction is the double curvature Arch dam which is the first of its kind in India. This place also has a wildlife sanctuary.

Munnar

A big hit with tourists, this is an arresting hill station located at an altitude of 1524 m above sea level. It offers mesmerizing views of the confluence of three mountain streams namely Kundala, Kannimalayar and Nallathanni. Anamudi is the highest peak of South India which is located in Munnar. Its tea, coffee and spice gardens are its main attractions.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary

Located 50 km off Devikulam, this wildlife sanctuary is rich in flora and fauna. It is known for housing the endangered grizzled giant squirrel and star tortoise. A variety of other wildlife species are also present here. The sanctuary also has a beautiful waterfall called Thkoovanam.

MangalamDevi Temple

It is an ancient temple almost in ruins. Nestled on a hill amidst thick forest, the temple offers breathtaking views.
