Many digital scrapbooking software packages will let you choose a theme from a library, and of course you have the choice to customise it too. So, let's say for example that you have a family member who is a massive racing car fanatic, you could find a theme that fits in and then customise it with other elements that also say something about the recipient's character or the things they enjoy. This way the digital scrapbook doesn't only contain things that mean something to him or her, but also speaks volumes about their personality and makes for a very well thought out gift.

Don't Limit it to just Photographs:

You don't have to limit a scrapbook just to photographs; that applies to digital scrapbooks too. Has your friend or loved one been in the news recently? Is there an achievement they've accomplished? Are they a member of a certain club? Find newspaper snippets about them or about something they love and include these too. Most newspapers now record all the news on their websites too; so you can screenshot the story and include it.

Get Creative:

Why not make your own newspaper snippets? Photography editing software such as Photoshop enables you to be really creative with pictures and words and there are a whole host of online generators. You could even write up your own fictitious news story to add a little humour to the gift. You can make it look like an authentic newspaper cutting and include that.
