King 'Shahjahan' showered his beloved begum with highest titles. Finally she became famous by the name of 'Mumtaz Mahal'. Mumtaz Mahal died at the age of 39 years. After her death, Shahjahan was inconsolable, so he decided to erect a memorial to his queen in pristine marble that would be unforgettable for the whole world.

In 1633, the work on the mausoleum began. To build this unforgettable monument 20,000 workers labored for 17 years.

Visitors from all over the world are very much excited to see the sparkles of Taj in the moonlight, which looks like a jewel. The Taj looks pinkish in the morning, milky white in the evening and when the moon shines it gives the golden glow.
