Distance Learning Opposed to Traditional System of Teaching
Traditional education is considered to include on-campus learning
, attending lectures, and submitting papers on time. The concept of submitting papers remains while analyzing distance learning, though other principles are different. You are not required to attend lectures physically as you can see those via the Internet. You do not have to stay on campus all the time which enables to travel or to work. Some people claim that distance learning is more effective than traditional system of education. You can agree or disagree on this issue regarding the arguments presented below. A few ideas about traditional education and distant learning When people think about education, they imagine a large lecture hall and a library full of useful literary sources, long passageways and dormitories, a Dean's office and laboratories. It is clear that every person has an idea of education and the learning process in general. Some people that have already gotten a diploma think that the learning process does not change and every generation of students should exercise the same skills and competencies. In this respect, students that come to college have a little idea of what the learning process would be really like due to misinterpretations made by their elder friends and parents. Supporting traditional learning The traditional learning has its advantages and can be chosen if you are going to get a diploma according to your knowledge and skills. In this case, you can live in a dorm and be a participant of extracurricular activities. Traditional learning also enables you to consult your tutor on some vague points that you find unclear. However, more and more educators prefer to be asked via emailing them different questions. These questions can be answered via the Internet as well as during lectures and seminars.
