It is said that changing ones attitude to the problem, a person changes a lot. For this reason, the importance of self-motivation should not be underestimated. Setting the priorities, distributing ones forces and organizing ones work in a proper way, a person can take on the world. Self-motivation is important for becoming a successful distant learner as well. The problem is that these students are deprived of instructors support and control. E-learning requires well-developed self-organization and time-management skills.

In reality, acquiring material and interpreting it is not that easy as it might seem to be. Traditional campus students, as a rule, do not enjoy long hours of lectures and class discussion. The fact is that they underestimate its impact on level of their skills and understanding of the course materials. Sometimes learning the course materials, doing the assignments and especially developing skills without outside assistance might seem to be an overwhelming task. Deciding on distance learning, students need to be ready for independent hard work. Lacking support of their instructors and peers, distant students rarely have an opportunity to consult their educators and share opinions with their colleagues.

Improving ones self-education skills

Actually, life-long self-education is required for making a career. For this reason, development of self-education skills during ones distance learning might be beneficial for further professional growth. For enhancing the effectiveness of ones self-education, a person should

1.Avoid learning by fits and starts. The developers of the program paid attention to logical structure of materials. It is difficult to pass to the next part of the course without acquiring the necessary materials.

2.Pay attention to time-management. Choose deadlines and do everything possible for meeting them.

3.Look for opportunities to implement ones theoretical knowledge in practice.
