You'd never know that someone that grew up like Jorge could become so successful.
He grew up with no electricity and no running water, yet he's wealthy and very happy in every aspect of his life.
As Jorge told me recently when we met in San Diego, CA, "I am completely and utterly happy with my life and my family. I have more time to spend and do the things I want, when I want to do them."
His family couldn't afford electricity, so he ended up using candles at night. If his mom and himself were lucky and had enough money, he sometimes had to travel a half a mile with two empty milk containers and fill them up with petroleum and bring them back home so they could use it for their lamps.
On top of that, each day he had to walk two miles to school and back, where the roads were muddy constantly during the winter rainy months.
But this didn't stop Jorge from dreaming and thinking big. He knew that he wanted more in life to be able to provide for his family.
After high school, Jorge attended college in San Diego. The problem was that he still lived in Tijuana and could not afford the price of renting a place in the US. His funds were tight, so he had no other option than to commute.
His commute was 3 hours each way. He had to walk, take a bus and hitchhike to get to school each day. Sometimes he would find a place to sleep in a classroom and shower in the gym, just so he didn't have to commute 6 hours a day back and forth.Grab A Copy Click here
Many times he didn't have enough money to eat that day or for the bus ride home. He used books from the library and the school computers for his reports. But he still managed through these tough times.
After graduating school, Jorge, like most college graduates decided to get a job. Quickly he learned that the job he landed, was not going to achieve the American Dream' that he wanted to pursue.
His goals were to be happy and to have more time to spend with his wife and more time to spend with his entire family. He wanted more time so he could eat better and be extremely healthy. His goal was to get to the gym every day. He knew if he took care of these things, that the money would come.
Jorge was looking for freedom to do the things he wanted to do, when he felt like doing them!
Yes, he made it to college from poverty, but what did he do next to get into the wholesale business?
The first thing he did was he bought his first Wholesale Business in the greater San Diego area.
That's right, after 2 years of studying and learning about the wholesale industry, he took the plunge and became incredibly successful at running his own wholesale businesses.
