What does it take to become a interactive DJ rather then just a push button jock? The first and most important is getting over the fear of the mic. Not the thought of 300 drunk wedding goers in their underwear, but the thought that we are all the same underneath, the thought that all we all want to do is let our hair down and have a great time is what needs to be your motivator.

There are many forms of interaction on the mic, from mild to wild and everything in between. There are some venues where you are required to be on the mic at all times, even during songs, to be more of a hype man. There are some instances, where the most personality you need to show is the announcing of the wedding party. Start off on your comfort level and allow yourself to relax during the set, you will most likely see yourself far more comfortable then your ever imagined by the end of the set.

The biggest thing you can do is have fun, dont be someone youre not, and know when a event is too far out of your comfort level, because ultimately, you can make or destroy the atmosphere.
