We know that fossil fuels are harmful to the environment. But to further understand and create true awareness you must understand every important aspect of it. Let us start by defining what fossil fuel is.

Basically they are results of anaerobic decomposition of dead organism which is millions of years ago. The reason why we burn them is because they are highly flammable and burning them produces a great deal of energy. Fossil fuels include coal, petroleum and natural all of which contains high amounts of carbon.

The "Green House Effect"

Excessive carbon dioxide in our atmosphere will result into the so called greenhouse effect. It means our planet is heating up that normal err even a fifth grader knows that well. What you should know as an adult and a concern being is the true effects of green house and how to solve it.

Currently we are emitting over 20 billion tons of carbon dioxide, way more than our planet can take in and its taking its effect. The warming up of our planet causes the alteration of our environment. In the North Pole, polar caps are melting away, affecting the habitats of various animals. That is also the same story in every parts of the globe, the climate change alters the habitat of various animal species, the fast climate change leave little or even no room for them to adapt. Just conclude what will happen to them.

The "Solution"

The solution is to stop burning fossil fuels but it is not as easy as it seems. It will result to a total chaos. It almost means shutting down the entire country. Efforts and words have come out that we have to use our energy wisely but are you doing your part?

Little things like turning off a light will make a difference if done collectively.

Alternative Energy Sources

Modern technology today is in a constant search for a source that will obsolete fossil fuels. Right now we have sources that are proving to be a viable source. Amongst them is the Solar panel technology. The sun produces enormous amounts of energy that is renewable, clean, eco-friendly and almost free.

The Australian government is doing their part in an attempt to bypass this global crisis that is lingering around the block. They have issued rebates and incentives for any form of renewable energy source whether residential or commercial. Now it is just time for you to take part. Settling for solar energy and other forms is probably one of the best value for money you can get. Have a guilt free feeling every time you use your appliances.
