Are you a fisherman? Do you do it for fun like most or are you one to try at making
a living out of it? Some of you only go fishing for the thrill of catching the big one. There are a lot of people that just can not bring themselves to eating most of these fish that come out of the river. You may find them buying the frozen ones out of your neighborhood grocery store. They might even order fish off the menu at a restaurant still not eating that fish they caught out of the river. The main reason for this is that you might have had a bad smell come off of this fish you caught making it almost impossible for you to even think of cooking it and then eating it.
There are so many different kinds of fish living in our waters around this world with most of them none of you ever knowing what their names are. You might have heard about the carp, the bass, the trout even the catfish. These are only a few. There are some called the spoonbill, northern pike, the blue gill even the gar or skip-jack. Then you have heard about those found in salt water like the whales and the sharks. A lot of your deep sea fishermen talk about the big ones they tried to catch and lost. To go after these big ones you have to know what to use and how to do it. Some of these big ones can pull you in this water when trying to get away.
In some ports in this country you might at any time of the day find someone trying to sell their catch of the day. Some of you might even sell your catch to the nearest store or restaurant. In some areas this is the way you make your living. The bigger your haul the more money you are given for your catch. Then some of you might go to fish this area for your own supper. You can do this with a fishing pole and some worms. You might try your luck on the bank or go out for a short time on your boat. Then again you might not be trying to catch anything just getting off on your own.
No matter what the reason you are out on this river or on the bank remember to take your time and be safe. Who knows you might have just caught the one that got away from someone else.
