Many of us work hard every day to make money, pay our bills, and maybe get a chance to do something fun once in a while on the weekend. We grind it out week after week, maybe save a few bucks, and hope that at the end of the year we have balanced out so we are not further in debt and whatever investments we have put our extra money into hasn't lost any money due to economic downturns or drops in real estate values. Do we really know how to make money in this world, or are we just creatures of habit and doing what our parents did or what we think is the right way to go about things?

So many of us think of ourselves as free spirits and independent thinkers, except when it comes to the basic model of trying to make ends meet financially. We all tend to follow a similar path trying to figure out how to make money. The outside the box thinking that shows up in our hobbies, crafts, music, and art seems to escape us when the dollar is involved. This might be the reason so many of us are always in the same rut, scraping by each week, going paycheck to paycheck, fighting to keep the lights on and saving our car from repossession.

Many financial advisors are available out there to help us learn how to make money, yet we seldom take their advice or even spend the time to even contemplate if there are some good lessons to be learned from these professional financial types. Beyond that, there are numbers of books, seminars, and videos as well as online advice to be had in the realm of gaining financial control of your life, yet so many ignore all of these portals that could launch their financial freedom.

The bottom line is that all of us should learn how to make money in a way that works for us. Beyond that old-fashioned grind it out mentality, there is a whole world of financial paths, tunnels, and highways to success, and we should all jump on one of them before we waste our life away just scraping by week after week, month after month, and year after year. Eventually we might find that we spend decades fighting against the financial tide, and never getting anywhere in the end. If you are breaking even every month with nothing to show for it, you have little to lose trying to get ahead in a less conventional way.
