Do You Strive For What You Want Or Do You Settle For What You're Given

Very few people are truly living the life that they want to live, the life that they always dreamed of, the life that they meticulously planned down to the very last detail.

We all have struggles in our lives, some have more struggles than others, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I had lots of struggles in my life, I would like to share some of them with you now.

I had a job that I hated (I was good at it, but I still hated it) it was a struggle to get myself out of bed in the morning and an even bigger struggle to actually go to work.

I had a lack of purpose in my life, I didn't know exactly what I wanted but I knew I wanted more than I had.

I felt that life was passing me by and I didn't know what to do about it.

I would get down on myself for not doing more with my life, I would verbally abuse myself for not living up to my potential.

I had too much month left at the end on the money, I was practically living pay check to pay check, and as for savings lets just say if it cost one English pound to go round the world I wouldn't have got half way.

I was unhappy with my diet and how it made me look and feel, I had always been relatively fit, but I was now getting out of shape and found it hard to motivate myself to change my terrible eating and exercise habits.

I didn't feel in control of my life, I was living a day to day existence, there was no planning for tomorrow, my only focus was on how I was going to get through the day.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Thank goodness those days are behind me now.

Something had to give, something had to change, I couldn't possibly go on as I was.

So I decided that I had had enough, instead of feeling sorry for myself I got angry, not at myself or with anyone else but at the circumstances that I had found myself in.

I decided to turn my life around, I decided that I would no longer settle for what I was given, I decided to strive for what I wanted instead.

It was the best decision that I had made in a very very long time.

Within 12 months my life had totally changed.

I had a job that I loved and I looked forward to going to work. (if you can call walking from my bedroom to my PC going to work that is:)

I had a new found purpose in life and I was loving every minute of it.

I felt that my time was back under my control again.

My self esteem went through the roof and remains there till this day.

I had more money than before and I actually had savings for the first time in a very long time.

I was back in shape I would get compliments on how well I was looking and I have continued to stay in shape and I am still getting compliments.

I stopped living day to day and started to plan my life out, where I wanted it to go and how I was going to get there, my life has never been the same since.

It is never too late to turn your life around, I waited till I was 40 years of age before I decided to turn my life around, and the moment I made the decision was the moment that everything began to change for the better.

So I want you to decide today, do you strive for what you want or do you settle for what you're given?
