In starting an e-Commerce business, always remember that competition is around. Think of the best way to make better deals than others. It is also important not to hard sell or over sell things the customers doesn't need. Use the consultative approach, wherein you just inform the customers what items or add-ons you think fit their personality and lifestyle the most.

Steve added a perk not all e-Commerce sites have. Being the philanthropist that he is, he made sure that in every purchase of anything in the site, part of the profits will go to notable charitable institutions (some of which include the American Red Cross, the Covenant House, the Mills-Peninsula Breast programs, and the Gulf Coast fund for Commnity Renewal and Ecological Health).

True enough, the secret to having a successful business is doing right. If you start your business by doing good not just to the customers, but to every person you encounter, you will surely be on top of your game.
