Does a name really matter in numerology?

Numerology can be used to determine the vibration of a person's name

, among other things. The name that you are christened with at the time of your birth, and the nick name, or the name with which your family members and/or friends know and call you has a profound effect on the energy system of your body. According to master numerologist Blair Gorman, this effect on energies begins as soon as the person is in his/her mother's womb. For instance, if a father calls his son Jack before he is born, that sends an energy into the system. When the child is born and named, the numerology of his name, or its vibration, so to speak, begins to interact with the internal energies, resulting in the formation of an energy field. As a person grows older, this name vibration firmly establishes itself.

During adulthood, i.e., when the person has been associated with one name for quite a long time, and changes his/her name, probably due to marriage in case of women, there is a change in vibration. Blair Gorman also reveals that this is applicable in case one adds a title to the name of spiritual reasons or otherwise, like Sister, Reverend, Doctor, etc. However, the influence of this change is amplified if the name change is followed by a ritual, like marriage, ordination and so on. For instance, most people take up a spiritual name without a ritual, knowing that their level of thinking has changed in line with a more spiritual perspective.

As far as people who change their name voluntarily in order to start afresh, like a convicted criminal who was recently released from prison, Blair Gorman says that even they experience this change, albeit there is no ritual as such. However, the level of change, positive or negative, is certainly different in both the cases.
