Driving Lessons For New And Veteran Drivers

It has often been said that if all the religions and ethical concepts of the world

were summed up in one maxim, it would be something like love thy neighbours. Unfortunately, the sphere of driving lessons seems to be more complicated than ethical theory. As hard as I try, I could only squeeze driving lessons into three categories. Now here are the rules and guidelines that I think must be followed by all drivers, new and veterans alike.

Signal at every turn

This road common sense should be drilled into the minds of all drivers, so that it becomes an instinctive habit. Even seasoned drivers must not forget to signal at every turn, at all turns. Remember that to turn means to turn on light and you wont easily forget this road courtesy. Also, do not forget to signal when changing lanes -- even seasoned drivers sometimes forget this rule. When making a turn, always check your blind spot; look over your shoulder to see the area not reflected by the mirror. A vehicle could be right behind you, totally invisible on the mirror.

Take cautions at crossings and intersections

A great many accidents happen in road intersections. When approaching stops, always remember your basic driving lessons -- check your left and right, and then check your left and right. Again. You cant be too careful. Meanwhile, decrease speed and be ready to brake at yield signs. Pass only when there are no other crossing vehicles.

Driving drills

Driving techniques become a part of your life, acquiring the force of habit, when you practice them regularly and diligently. Soon enough, there will be no need to remember the hypothetical scenarios taught at driving class as driving becomes an instinct in you. You should always be at your top form for these driving techniques -- parallel parking, U-turns, and three-point turns. Look for parking lots or any open spaces where you could practice these. You could use road cones to stand in for other cars.

Remember that the point of driving lessons is public safety. For teenagers, driving should not be done to only to impress friends, or as a rite of passage when acquiring your driving license. Always drive responsibly, since your own life, as well as the lives of many others, are at stake.

Live a more responsible life by taking your driving lessons seriously.
