"When I received the Dyson, I was very unsure as I had been using a Miele Cat and Dog for 5 years or more with great success but still missed using an upright. It felt very heavy initially, but its great to see what you pick up in the "dust box". It picks up dog hairs really well, I have two quite hairy dogs and it does a good job. I like the switchover from carpets to hard floor which is simple. The only downside is the clumsiness of using the attachments as the handle is very stiff and awkward.
