Dyson Bagless Vacuum Cleaner Review

Originally all vacuums were bagless. All vacuums simply used a cloth dirt bag to hold the airborne debris and dirt and pet hair. They leaked airborne debris and odors, but they were much better than having nothing at all. After that paper bags were introduced to very dramatically cut down on the particles. The bags were a big step up because they cut down on the odors stored in the fabric outer container, and the filth and dirt could be thrown away with no dust cloud forming all around the vacuum cleaner.

Roughly 1985, the bagless vacuum cleaner were to become accepted. Initially, bagless vacuum cleaners had a conspicuous benefit over bagged vacuum cleaners. The HEPA filter that all bagless vacuums have stops almost all the airborne debris and odors from leaking out the vacuum exhaust. The good news was that the HEPA filters stopped airborne dirt and dust from spewing out. The bad news is that the bagless filters clogged up fast. They clogged earlier if the air flow had high wetness or if you were picking up pet hair. The dog and cat pet dander adheres to the filter material and slows air movement. The slowing air flow is also what cooled the motor. The motors in bagless vacuums tend not to last as long as bagged vacuum cleaners on account of this limited airflow to the motor in bagless vacuum cleaners.

We now have a small retail business selling vacuums and filters in Wooster Ohio. The two chief reasons shoppers ask us about bagless vacuum cleaners is: 1) The customers want to save money on bags, or 2) They want less dirt. Bagless vacuums like the Dyson, use a HEPA filter to halt the dirt. These filters are very successful. The filters also need to be discarded at least yearly (more often if you have small kids or dogs or cats) and, the filters are not low-priced, $29 - $59 each. It will be impossible to spend as much for liners. High filtration paper bags can cost you a dollar or two apiece. You may splurge less money on the bags than for the bagless filters, regardless of whether you swap the bags repeatedly.

Not as much airborne dirt and dust? Do you have waste cans at home? Do you use garbage can bags? Why? Because it's more hygienic when you throw out the paper liner rather than of dumping the can with all the dirt being thrown into the air. Most high end vacuum cleaners nowadays utilize micron filtration paper bags along with a HEPA filter at the exhaust of the vacuum. The micron filtration bags provide first-rate filtration, and they will not clog up and impede airflow like the HEPA filters in bagless vacuum cleaners. The HEPA filter at the exhaust takes much longer to get soiled because the dirt and pet hair is trapped in the high filtration paper liner.

Not as expensive vacuum cleaners are nearly all without a bag. The profit is in the filters, not the disposable vacuum cleaners. The higher end vacuums very nearly all use high filtration inner bags. The exception to this is the Dyson. It is a very well made vacuum cleaner that is not cheap. Starting at roughly $399, dyson vacuums are the top of the line in bagless vacuum sweepers.

Should you own dogs or cats, the cat dander is what adheres to the bagless HEPA filters. We also recommend to family pet owners that they use a vacuum cleaner with a charcoal filter to entrap and defuse the dog odors. Also, natural filament brushes on your vacuum's roller brush will not catch the pet fur in the roller.
