. It is important to remember that you should pickle fresh okras. Sealing is also an important thing to remember when you pickle okras. You can add okras when you eat with other foods. It can also be used as a garnishing for a Bloody Mary drink.
Ingredients:
1. fresh okras
2. vinegar
3. cloves of garlic
4. garlic salt
5. olive oil
6. chili peppers
7. pint size glass jars with lids
8. a large pot
9. saucepans
10. measuring cup
11. funnel
12. towels
Procedure:
1. The first step on how to pickle okra is washing them first and drying them completely. You should also wash the jars and the lids preferably with lukewarm water.
2. The second step on how to pickle okra is filling a big saucepan halfway through with vinegar. Then you add one cup of water to the smaller saucepan and put it on the stove with medium heat. Then in another big saucepan put water that should fill up three fourths of the jar you are going to use. You will boil this water when you are already done with the other preparations.
3. The third step on how to pickle okra is packing them into the jars with their stems upright. You should poke some garlic and chili pepper in the middle part of the jar. You should also put some olive oil. Put the garlic salt on the okras as well then put them in a clean and dry cabinet near your stove.
4. The fourth step on how to pickle okra is heating the saucepan with the vinegar so that it will boil. Put the sealer on the hot water you have prepared. It is important that this will become hot prior to sealing the jars.
5. The fifth step on how to pickle okra is adding the hot vinegar carefully through the funnel. Place the lids and wipe each jar well. Make sure that each jar is tightly sealed.
Get the sealer from the hot water and put it above the jar so you can put the ring.
6. The sixth step on how to pickle okra is putting the jars in the bigger saucepan with the hot water. Be careful not to burn your hand or fingers. You should put it there for five minutes. Take the jars out of the water and dry it off with a towel. Then let the jars cool down. When the jars have cooled down you must put them in a clean cabinet for forty eight hours so the spices can season the okras well.
