Eating Out at New York

New York has always been considered as a melting pot of different cultures and traditions. This can be attributed to the fact that there are so many nationalities living within the city. If you try to determine if there is really a particular dish that embodies what New York is all about, then the effort would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

To give you a rough overview, there are basically seven areas in New York and each region is subdivided into smaller parts. It may sound surprising but each part has a unique dish that represents their culture.

For instance at The Bronx, you would have different cuisines depending on the specific area. You can find Irish, Jamaican, Mexican, Italian, Puerto Rican, Filipino, and seafood cuisines. Irish cuisine is popular at Woodlawn, Jamaican cuisine at Wakefield, Filipino cuisine at Norwood, Italian at Belmont, and so on. The variety of cuisines you can find in this area can actually get you hungry most of the time.

At Manhattan, you can also find a lot of different cuisines, and if you are staying at a NYC vacation apartments, then you can easily try out these delectable foods within the area. You can find Puerto Rican dishes at the Lower East Side, German and Hungarian at the Upper East Side, Japanese and Korean at the East Village, Italian and Chinese at Little Italy, Dominican dishes at Washington Heights, and also African-American at Harlem.

If you like prefer to a popular Island in New York, which is the Staten Island, you will also find great Italian, Russian and Polish cuisines there. You would also have a great time cruising to this Island and if you can afford any of the NYC vacation apartments, you can always go back to this great island.

Other districts in New York such as Queens and Brooklyn also have their own set of dishes. You can actually think of New York as a place where you can taste practically all types of cuisines in the world. And for you to really enjoy the food, you need to at least avail one of the NYC vacation apartments, that way you have all the time in the world to taste the different delectable cuisines.
