Ebook Readers - Ipad Reviewed

Reading books on electronic devices has become a popular thing these days

. It has exploded with recent ebook reading devices and cell phones that have ebook applications that make it easy to buy and read books on the go. The Ipad has been released just recently. Is this something that you might considering purchasing if you want to read ebooks?

The size and feel of the device is perfect for this type of function. It's a great ebook reader in terms of size and weight. The Ipad is a little heavier than a regular book, but the great thing is it can store thousands of books.

However, there is one bog disadvantage: The screen. The big problem is that the screen reflects the light of the room. You have to hold is in a way that it won't be reflecting any light that directly hits the screen. Other devices with electronic ink like the Kindle doesn't have this problem as these screens act like paper being seen even better in direct lighting.

The battery life is good enough for an ebook reader. You can read non stop for a whole day without the need of recharging the battery. You will just have to charge it each day making sure you have enough battery power for the next day.

So which formats can you read on an Ipad?

The iPad has the advantage of being able to use a multitude of formats. The first one is of course Apple's own file format called iBook. This is Apple's ebook market that you can purchase books through iTunes.

Another option is using the Kindle application. You might consider Kindle, because it has a much bigger selection than Apple's iBookstore. Due to the fact that Kindle is free, you can use it without further investment on your Ipad.

Another option is using a regular internet browser to read ebooks. The browser can read HTML pages. You can find literally thousands of ebooks in HTML format online.

Other ebook publishers are interested in getting more readers. A lot of them offer apps that will work for the IPad making it an even better device to use for reading ebooks.
